It has came back around to our HTM dept that we will be maintaining the PAPR hoods, again. Due to the nature of the situation these are used in, TB, and other air borne contagions, is HTM the appropriate department to be dealing with these potentially infectious and contaminated filtered Hoods. After all they are PPE's not medical devices. We do not check helmets or goggles or rubber gloves. We do not have the appropriate air hood and filtration system to be changing the filters from these, in our shop. Who takes care of PAPR's at your hospital?
